In 1981, two doctors, Dr. Frederick Klein and Dr. Gary Monash, came together to form Arizona Gastroenterology. Having both recently finished intensive schooling in the field of gastroenterology, they brought a passion for medicine and helping patients live better. Their founding principles, to which they still refer to this day, were quality health care, experienced physicians and patient trust.

Together, Dr. Klein and Dr. Monash have built one of the largest gastroenterology practices in Southern Arizona, with offices in Tucson and as far south as Green Valley, Arizona. They are now celebrating over 25 years in the community.

In 2003, the partners of Arizona Gastroenterology made a joint decision to relocate their main office to the growing area of Northwest Tucson at 7566 N. La Cholla Blvd. This complex includes not only the main offices but also the Arizona Digestive Institute, where most procedures are performed.

Today, Arizona Gastroenterology offers comprehensive care for all your digestive health needs. The practice is comprised of seven physicians, board-certified and fellowship-trained at some of the top medical programs and hospitals in the country, as well as an experienced physician’s assistant and nurse practitioner.

The Arizona Gastroenterology physicians are among an elite crowd, having been named America’s Top Physicians by the Consumers' Research Council.

The medical team is dedicated to providing patients with outstanding care in a comfortable environment. Arizona Gastrenterology provides gastroenterological care for inpatient and outpatient medical services in the diagnosing and treating of patients with illness and disease of the digestive tract. This includes: esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines (colon), pancreas and liver, gallbladder and attached bile duct.

In addition, our team guides patients on the path to healthier living, giving them recommendations on how to address their specific needs. We consult with patients on what treatments are working best for them and closely monitor their progress.

Our practice is limited to patients over the age of 18 with gastroenterologic disorders. We recommend that patients have a primary care physician to manage non-gastroenterologic conditions.
